Build & Brew: Make a French Press Coffee Pot Saturday, July 11th | 9:00 - 11:00am Sunday, July 12th | 1:00 - 3:00pm Sunday, July 26th | 1:00 - 3:00pm Please note this is a course and you are signing up for all three sessions Minimum age: 14 Registration $145 Material fee: All materials included in registration fee: 10lbs of clay (more available for purchase separately) glaze, firing, and coffee plunger. Transform your morning coffee ritual with a personalized touch. This engaging class invites you to use hand-building techniques to craft a beautiful, functional French press from a simple flat slab of clay—no prior pottery experience required. Across three detailed sessions, you'll first learn to prepare and wedge your clay, then roll and texture it into a suitable cylinder shape. In the second session, you’ll enhance your creation by forming and attaching essential elements like feet, a spout, and a handle, culminating in crafting a perfectly fitting lid. Finally, explore various glazing techniques to add the finishing decorative touches, ensuring your unique piece is ready for daily use. Elevate your coffee experience with a handcrafted ceramic French press made by you. About the Instructor: After a long career in medicine, Martha traded her stethoscope for a pottery wheel and discovered a different kind of healing in mountain mud. She creates and teaches pottery as a joyful, hands-on practice that balances skill, creativity, and curiosity. Her classes invite students to slow down, get a little messy, and rediscover the simple pleasure and quiet magic of making something with their hands.
