Fun in the Mud: Basic Pottery Techniques Tuesdays and Thursdays April 21st - May 28th | 6:00pm - 8:00pm Minimum age: 14 Registration Fee: $240 Material fee: 25lb bag of clay $30 / $15 firing fee / optional $15 tool kit This course will cover basic hand building and throwing as it introduces: pinch, coil, slab, potter’s wheel, and sculptural techniques. Construction with clay will be covered to help you create your own ideas in this amazing medium. The class will also include finishing and basic glazing of your work. About the instructor: Don McFadden also known as Mr. Mc after teaching art, drama, American Humanities, and coaching at Cedaredge High School for thirty years before retiring. Don earned a master’s degree in Art Education from Adam’s State College, and graduate studies concentration in American Humanities through Colorado State University and the National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities. He enjoys painting and pottery and is an active member of the Taos Watercolor workshop meeting in Taos, New Mexico in the spring of every year.
