GMAEC is honored to acknowledge and thank Kristi Smythe for her volunteer service! Kristi is a multi-faceted and multi-talented individual who not only offers volunteer hours in the gallery desk and at events and concerts, but also teaches clay art classes in the Art Garage. As a passionate and creative artist in fiber, clay, and painting, Kristi’s experience and skills are a valued asset to the Arts Center.

While growing up in Evergreen, Colorado, Kristi and her family visited the Cedaredge, Grand Junction, and Grand Mesa areas often to camp, fish, hunt and hike. She was, and still is, an avid outdoors woman. Kristi moved full time to Cedaredge in 2019 and discovered the Arts Center by taking a fabric art class. Having volunteered throughout her life, Kristi, upon retiring, offered her time to GMAEC.

Kristi is a true “Jane of all trades” with several different career paths ranging from flight attendant, computer software developer, e-commerce specialist, horse and rider trainer for the sport of Dressage, and she also worked as a chef!

Currently, Kristi’s varied passions and hobbies include creating and teaching art, designing and problem solving in art and technology, outdoor adventure, travel, and everything to do with horses.

The Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center is grateful to have a volunteer like Kristi Smythe!
