Vote for Dale!

Dale has volunteered at Grand Mesa Arts and Events Center (GMAEC) since it opened in 2018. He’s there nearly every day—hanging gallery shows, helping in classes, ushering con-certs, greeting guests and spreading joy to everyone he meets. A retired commercial artist, Dale is generous in sharing his talents and serves as GMAEC’s liaison to the regional art com-munity. He curates rotating gallery exhibits every six to eight weeks, working closely with artists and spending almost a full day to ensure the art is displayed perfectly. He also helps organize the annual Edge of Cedars art show. Recently, Dale spent months painting a large oil painting of the GMAEC building and donated it to the center, where it now hangs in the foyer. Proceeds from sales of prints and cards support the center. Dale volunteers at nearly every concert—greeting guests, setting up chairs and passing around the tip jar for musicians. At fashion shows, he’s been spotted in costume. “GMAEC is my family,” he says—and he shows it every single day.
