Description
Spring Wild Flowers 2D Wool Needle Felting Class with Susan Layman Saturday, March 21st | 10:00 - 12:00 Minimum age: 14 Registration Fee: $47 Material fee: Included in the price of the class covers felt pallet, colored wool, 8" square mat with 4" space picture, small wooden easel, embroidery thread. This miniature wool picture is made by needle felting colorful wool into the felt pallet. The accents are made using embroidery thread. (Previous embroidery experience is helpful but not necessary.) This beginner class will teach basic needle felting. Susan will guide students along as we make this pretty wildflower scene. We’ll add some embroidery highlights, if desired, then adhere our picture to a mat that will enhance the colors even more! Each student will go home with a lovely matted picture and a small wooden easel for display. Susan will have everything ready to make this sweet picture. Bring nothing but your smile! This is the first of a miniature series in the “Seasons” trio. She focuses on 2D wool landscapes and portraits. She won First Place in the Edge of Cedars Art Show for her fiber arts landscape “Take Me Home Country Road” in 2022. Her artwork is sold at Cat’s on Main as well as The GMAEC ReFind Festival and Miniatures Show. She has been teaching wool classes at GMAEC for two years.
