Learning to Paint Landscapes with Wayne McKinzie Sunday, March 15th | 1:00 - 5:00 Minimum age: 18 Registration Fee: $65 Material fee: $30 for paint and brush set and painting panel (optional) In this class we will be introduced to the use of perspective, learn how colors interact and how to mix paint to a specific thickness and color. We will learn different painting techniques using different sized and shaped brushes. An image will be provided and each student will begin to understand how to create an original piece of art using their own insights and abilities. The goal is not necessarily to come away with a finished piece of art, but for the participants to gather knowledge and take his information with them to continue to create original artwork on their own. Please provide your own materials for this class. Recommended materials: Complete Acrylic Paint Set with Art Brushes, Art knife, and sponge. Ampersand Art Supply Wood Gesso Painting Panel 8”x10” A limited number of these items will be available at the Art Garage for purchase. About the Instructor: Wayne McKinzie’s education in fine arts and commercial art and illustration led him to have several one-person shows in galleries in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. In addition, his paintings have been represented in group shows in galleries in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. His work is greatly influenced by his years growing up in rural settings of Missouri, Oklahoma, and Iowa. After years of working as a commission artist, he is pleased to be back in a landscape that inspires him and is enjoying Western Colorado.
