Quicksand Soup

Quicksand Soup is a high-energy five-piece country sweetgrass band from Moab Utah. In their thirteenth year as a band, They have released six albums and are the house band at Moab Backyard Theater, where they perform every Wednesday. They play a mix of catchy originals and old-time favorites and feature top-notch instrumentalists and all the band members sing. Sand Sheff is a Nashville and Austin singer-songwriter veteran. David Steward is a guitar virtuoso. Eric Jones is a bluegrass historian. Tamara is a classically trained violinist and Sunnie Sheff sings and plays bass. Songwriter Sand Sheff was Arizona born and Oklahoma raised. He has released 15 albums of original music including in Nashville and in Austin. Having played from campfires to Carnegie Hall to The National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, he has shared the stage with everyone from Ryan Adams to Ramblin' Jack Elliot. He's even opened for Phish! His music has been compared to "an evening of high-octane cactus juice around a campfire with Lyle Lovett, Gram parsons and Pink Floyd". (JC Shephard Roots Music Report).

Lead Guitarist David Steward is one of the best pickers in the Rocky Mountains, and has several albums of his original music to his credit.  He also yodels fantastically, though, unfortunately,not frequently. 

Mandolinist Eric Jones, raised in Dinosaur, Colorado, was  a founding member of Big Timbre and is an American musical historian as well as a much-sought after singer and picker. 

Moab born and raised Alan Snow  was the lead bass player for the world-famous Caleb Chapman Super Band (jazz)and traveled the world, where he got the opportunity to perform with such jazz luminaries as Branford Marsalis. 

Upstate New York raised Fiddler Tamara Frieda is one of the great strings talents of the Four Corners and also performs with the Durango and Phoenix Symphonies
