Note to Parents: You are registering your child for a 5 week course valued at $145 and paid for by generous donations to our YEA! Program.  Because spots are limited and fill up quickly, full attendance is essential. Your commitment to attend all sessions helps your child get the most out of the class and respects our instructor’s time.

Description: This drawing course is open to all teenagers wishing to improve their drawing skills.  We will use this time to practice skills and techniques to improve upon drawings.  We will work with sources (pictures), pencils, and sketchbooks.  The course will culminate with a session of reflection, polishing our main work and making it display ready.  Each student will take home a completed drawing and sketchbook full of practice and future prompts.

Instructor bio: Kara Manns is an artist and educator who has worked for the DCSD since 2008 and has made art since forever.   She believes that creativity is a powerful form of intelligence and delights in curating opportunities for youth artists to get curious and expressive.
