Youth Ballet, Tap & Jazz 9-12yr

YEA! Another FREE student program NOTE TO PARENTS: You are registering your child for a 35 week course paid for by generous donations to our YEA! Program. Because spots are limited and fill up quickly, full attendance is essential. Your commitment to attend all sessions helps your child get the most out of the course and respects our instructor’s time. Youth Ballet & Tap with Miss Linda Johnstun Mondays 5:00 - 6:30pm Please note you are registering for a course - you will be registered for all classes in this course through May. We will be holding a dance recital at the end of this course. The recital will take place in the GMAEC theatre on May 27th at 7:00pm. A dress rehearsal will take place on May 27th from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Classes will encourage fun, coordination, timing, self-discipline, tap and ballet technique. Required clothing for tap, ballet combination class: Girls: pink tights, black leotard any style, black ballet skirt, pink ballet shoes (No Ties), and black tap shoes (No Ties). Hair pulled up. Boys: white plain not baggy t-shirt, black shorts with spandex shorts under the shorts, white short socks, black ballet shoes (No Ties), black tap shoes (No Ties), and black jazz shoes (No Ties). Costumes for the recital will be provided. These FREE learning experiences will empower our youth to explore and expand their creativity and their appreciation for the Arts. These opportunities are donation driven. In order to continue these wonderful youth programs, please consider donating to the YEA! fund. For your convenience, there is a donation box in the GMAEC Theatre. Miss Linda moved to Cedaredge in July of 2022 to be with her family. She has been owner/director of Linda’s School of Dance in Utah for 57 years. Miss Linda enjoys working with the Cedaredge High School Drama Dept. under the direction of Mr. Parsons. Her dance company performances include: Utah Jazz half time performance, Disneyland and Disney World, Ms. Holiday Cruise Ship, San Antonio Riverwalk, New York City, Grand Ole Opry, Branson Missouri. Miss Linda has been choreographer for many high school and college musicals. She has been on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and was awarded the Utah Total Citizen of the Year and Price City Visionary Service Leader. She is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dance, member of Dance Educators of America, and attended College of Eastern Utah and the University of Utah.
