Drawing: light and shadow Saturday, December 5th | 10:00am - 2:30pm Minimum age: 15 Registration Fee: $65 Material fee: contact Robin Luster for materials required for this workshop This class will begin with drawing simple objects, sphere, cylinder, etc., set up as subject matter. We will play with light on these objects, providing the opportunity for the student to observe how light and shadow define the subject matter. Using these observations, we will experiment with recreating the image on paper. We will learn to create an image beginning with gesture drawings, and expand into final longer drawing sessions towards the end of the class using more conventional still life objects as subject matter. Students will bring their own materials. For a recommended material list please contact Robin Luster, Art Garage Manager, at robin.gmaec@gmail.com Instructor Bio: Wayne McKinzie’s education in fine arts and commercial art and illustration led him to have several one-person shows in galleries in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. In addition, his paintings have been represented in group shows in galleries in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. His work is greatly influenced by his years growing up in rural settings of Missouri, Oklahoma, and Iowa. After years of working as a commission artist, he is pleased to be back in a landscape that inspires him and is enjoying Western Colorado.
