About the Event

Ordinary Two

Come hear the extraordinary sounds of The Ordinary Two! A Colorado duo whose creation has been a long time in the making. Guitarist Jim Disner, who has shared the stage with jazz greats like Stanley Jordan and Ron Miles, joins his wife, vocalist Tanya Disner, in laid-back, acoustic, indie-pop, with a lot of jazz flavor and sweet vocal harmonies. Jim fell in love with Tanya when he first heard her sing. Theirs is a story of inspiring love and overcoming odds. Sultry vocals and fancy fretwork spin tales of life, love and the open road in a unique Alternative/Folk/Jazz blend of simultaneously humorous, inspiring, and mournful original songs - along with some unexpected covers. Together they harmonize like only soul-mates can.

With the 2018 release of their self-titled EP "The Ordinary Two" the duo began performing across the country, travelling in their DIY-converted camper/touring/mobile studio van they named Werner. In 2019 the touring continued, along with the release of the double-single "Lesser Travelled Road / We're not Gonna Take It". When the pandemic cancelled all of their shows in 2020, they streamed "Couch Concerts" online. For 13 months they performed from home or wherever they were to keep their sanity. You sit on your couch and they will entertain you! They also kept busy recording and releasing the singles - "When The World Stops Ending", "DMV", and "Find You". A collaboration EP with the retro-R&B horn-band, Muchly Suchwise, in 2021 brought a new take on three of their songs, also a partial return to live performances. 2022 saw the release of “Live-ish”. Recorded in 2020, it is a collection of live, and as-close-to-live-as-you-could-get-during-the-pandemic tracks. It is only available as a digital download at ordinarytwo.com or on CD at live shows. Newest releases are from their upcoming LP -  "Cat Talk" is a guitar-soaked, philosophic romp. Loosely based on the life of a cat. Also "Change", a haunting lament of the struggle to stay above the abyss while watching the world change before your eyes. Ever knowing that Love is the answer.

Western Slope Whistle Pigs

This 3 piece rock/funk/soul/reggae band began performing together in the Summer of 2023 at the Grand Mesa Arts Center's open mic night. After receiving rave reviews for their performances, they were invited to play at Applefest 2023 in Cedaredge, CO and have since then been devoted to inspiring their legions of followers to get down to classic songs.

Singer and guitarist Matt Grundstad (or Mr. G as his students know him) has recently moved from Denver to Cedaredge to run the music programs at CHS and CMS. That move being facilitated by his good friend and former touring bandmate Josten Foley (drums) from back in their College days, they enlisted the services of Dean Burbank to play Bass. Dean was a professional musician for many years before going into the medical profession, last working in Delta County. But this band has brought him out of that musical retirement. He is now the backbone of Delta County's premier live band.

The Western Slope Whistle Pigs love to play classic tunes. And with 60+ years of combined stage experience and touring between them, their enthusiasm onstage is infectious. With a deep love and appreciation for the types of music that are typically available to see live in their neck of the woods, the Whistle Pigs also like to throw in a few curveballs. With an ever changing, and seemingly endless list of songs in their repertoire, you will never know what to expect. But you can always expect to have a great time.
