David Starr's Blues Revue with Special Guests Mark & Michelle Prentice

Join David Starr and friends as he marks the one year anniversary of his release, “Must Be Blue” with a full band show! 

He’ll be joined by mandolinist Erik Stucky, drummer Chris Goplerud and Nashville’s musical power couple, Mark and Michelle Nicolo Prentice, (who’ll open the show) for an evening of blues originals, classic covers and surprises.

David Starr is a Colorado-based Blues and Americana singer/songwriter with over 11 albums to his credit. The Arkansas native has honed his decades-long career touring internationally, sharing the stage and collaborating with esteemed artists such as John Oates (Hall & Oates), John McEuen, Steve Cropper, Jim Lauderdale, and Wild Ponies as well as opening for acts like America, Karla Bonoff, Jim Messina, Survivor, and more. He has been a showcasing artist at Folk Alliance International, Americana Fest, and Southwest Regional Folk Alliance. In 2024 he melded his blues background of growing up playing electric guitar in Southern Arkansas clubs with his time spent in Nashville exploring Americana and Folk. What he arrived at was his own brand of “Bluesicana” - a melding of the two genres for his highly anticipated project Must Be Blue. After receiving rave reviews and recognition on previous singles from editorial playlists on Spotify such as “Got Blues”, it was clear he was striking a nerve. GRAMMY®-winning label Quarto Valley Records agreed and signed Starr to a record deal for the album, releasing in spring of 2025. He is a member of the Blues Foundation, The Colorado Blues Society, and the Pikes Peak Blues Society. Starr’s prestige extends beyond the stage, having launched Starr’s Guitars in Little Rock, before relocating to Cedaredge, CO in 2001, where it is now a beloved institution. Starr is also a founding member of the board for the Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center in Cedaredge, an intimate event space aimed at attracting musicians and visual artists to Colorado’s Western Slope. In 2024, he produced the sold-out inaugural Grand Mesa Songwriter Festival, which brought 15 songwriters to Cedaredge to perform over 50 shows across five venues.

A singer of phenomenal range and talent, Michelle Nicolo Prentice began singing at age four and had her first professional engagements at age eight. A native of Salt Lake City Utah, she won the prestigious Otto Harbach Award, was the National Talent Winner of the Modern Miss Pageant, and received a full scholarship to the University of Utah's Musical Theater Program.   

Her extensive professional resume includes recording work with  Bebe Winans, Dennis DeYoung, Wynonna Judd, Lari White, Russ Taff, and Mike Reid, starring roles in the original cast productions of hit songwriter/playwright Marcus Hummon's "Francis Of Guernica" and "Warrior" about which the Tennesean’s reviewer Evans Donnell wrote, “As Iva, Thorpe’s first wife and great love, Michelle Nicolo    Prentice provides some of the most exquisite singing moments you’ll find on any stage.”   Michelle delivered a stirring performance with the Sarajevo Symphony to celebrate the anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords,  and sang "Somewhere" on the Original Cast recording of West Side Story with Kenneth Schermerhorn and the Nashville Symphony.  She is a featured artist, along with Enrico Caruso and Leontyne Price, on the NEA’s Great American Voices CD.   Michelle is also featured in Marcus Hummon's Easter Cantata, “The Passion”, on both the original cast recording and on live performances.  She has sung on tour with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Artist Felix Cavaliere, of Young Rascals fame and is currently in development for her own internet television show.   

Michelle resides in Nashville, TN with her husband Mark and her children Gabrielle, Matthew and John. 

Mark Prentice is a Grammy Winning Record Producer, an in-demand studio musician, music director, and hit songwriter. Erik Stucky is a internationally touring producer, songwriter, and instrumentalist.

Growing up in the rugged mountains of Western Colorado, Stucky picked up his first mandolin at the age of 8. Following the release of his debut album Stray Clouds  in 2017, Stucky packed up his instruments and a single suitcase and pointed his pickup for Nashville. Since then he’s released his sophomore album, Good Vibrations, and held stages across the United States and Europe. In January 2024, he released his latest single, "Vigilante Love," which has taken off following its national premiere on RFD-TV. The song has been featured by Dirt Road Country as well as Nikki in Nashville, and received over 23K streams on Spotify alone, so far. Stucky has been featured multiple times by RFD-TV and Today in Nashville, as well as The Cowboy Channel, The Bluegrass Situation, Nashville Entertainment Weekly, and many other media outlets. His music has been praised by Americana UK, Roots Music Report, M Music & Musicians Magazine, and CMA, AMA, and ACM award-winner Crystal Gayle. 

When he’s not writing or playing music, Stucky enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading, practicing martial arts, hunting, and eating great food.
