Class Description

Cybersecurity Awareness and Training May 15th ~ 2:00 PM FREE and open to the public Registration is recommended, but not required. This class is suitable for anyone, no technical aptitude or computer literacy required. This class is for everyone who uses the internet. There will be a presentation on: - What cybercrime looks like today - Trends in cybercrime - How to identify and evade social engineering attacks - How to think like a hacker - Simple habits that make you a difficult target - Planning and resources to improve your security and privacy -Predictions on how AI is going to change things -What to do if/when you're the victim of a cybercrime. After the presentation there will be a Q&A session. The audience is invited to ask any and all security, privacy or tech questions. About Sean Trepas: Sean is a cybersecurity specialist and a privacy rights advocate. A technology communicator for over 20 years, he has worked for telecommunications companies such as Bresnan Communications, Cablevision and Flatwireless. He founded his own IT company in 2017, Weles Technology based in Eckert. Sean is a member of the Order of the Sword and Shield (Omicron Sigma Sigma) and holds numerous industry certifications including CompTIA Security+, Secure Infrastructure Specialist and ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner. He is currently in his senior year studying cybersecurity & information assurance at WGU.
