Creative Hand Building Dates: Jan 12th through Feb 19th Class Time: Mondays 10:30am to 1:00pm Skill Building Time: Thursdays 1:30pm to 4:30pm Registration price: $240 Material fee: 25 lb bag of clay $35 / optional tool kit $15 Minimum Age: 18 In this course you will discover the satisfying joy of making your own traditional and unique handmade pottery in our 12 session, stoneware clay hand building course. Mondays will be dedicated to learning new techniques and Thursdays will provide the opportunity to put work on your project utilizing those techniques. The techniques you can learn and practice include: * the use of slabs and forms to make dinnerware * the zen of making beautiful pinch pots, and * how to join the shapes you make into beautiful pieces with structural integrity Surface decoration options include applying textures, carving your clay and how to use and layer engobes, underglazes, oxide washes, and beautiful glazes.
