Note to Parents: You are registering your child for a 5 week course valued at $145 and paid for by generous donations to our YEA! Program.  Because spots are limited and fill up quickly, full attendance is essential. Your commitment to attend all sessions helps your child get the most out of the class and respects our instructor’s time.

Description: The Fiber Art Adventure class for kids ages 8–11 is a hands-on, creative program where young makers twist, wrap, weave, and stitch with yarn, fabric, and textiles. Students explore exciting techniques weaving, stitching, and  needle felting  while building motor skills, patience, and confidence. Each project will emphasize self expression and the artistic process while experimenting with a variety of fibers. 

Projects may include:

• Constructing and embellishing a coiled basket. 

• Tying decorative knots using paracord to create wearable and functional art. 

• Designing a geometric string-art composition. 

• Weaving expressive patterns using a variety of materials. 

• Needle felting a two or three dimensional art piece. 

  
  

To ensure thoughtful composition, each session will reinforce elements of art including line, shape, form, texture, color and space.
