Create an Artistic Travel Journal

Class Description

May 18th ~ 8:30 am - Noon $30 per person Plus $20 materials fee paid to instructor Summer trips are just around the corner. Whether you are doing a solo hike on a Colorado Trail, sightseeing through Europe, or rafting down the Green River, create and keep a travel journal so you and your family can re-live your adventures. Participants will learn about various inexpensive ways to make and use travel journals. What are the pros and cons of various blank book styles? What are the essential tools of this project for those who travel lightly? What are good prompts for keeping your journal interesting? We will be painting, stamping, collaging, stapling, decorating, , . creating. Virginia will share examples of travel journals with many ideas for creating interesting pages, embellishments and covers. This class is suitable for those 12 years and older. Younger children are welcome with an adult. This is a cool family activity. Workshop cost is $30. A materials fee of $20 (paid to instructor) includes all materials. ***Please bring scissors***. Participants will each leave with a blank journal, a start to their journal, some materials for future use, some handouts, and the skills to do this with confidence and enjoyment. Virginia Unseld moved to Colorado in 1978. She is primarily a landscape painter. She lives and owns yellow house studio & gallery in Eckert. She taught art for 30 years from kindergarten through college and loves to share her enthusiasm for art with others of all ages.
